I bought a wooden playpen for our 3 month old Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy. It was important to me that it was portable and adjustable so we could use it in our living room, on the porch and whenever we take it to visit family and friends. The height is suitable for a Corgi puppy. She stands on her hind legs and throws her front legs over him, but this helps her avoid trouble. Corgis aren't that good at jumping, so I'm not worried about their ability to get over the gate. If you hold a small sweater in your hands, think carefully about its height before buying it. Because it's made of wood and has multiple handles and bumpers, it's easy for a curious pup to mistake it for a chew toy. The bitter apple spray worked for us. Pros: Very portable. The goals are lightweight, adjustable and have no permanent fasteners. Reliable and dependable. With proper positioning and adjustment, the gate will stay in place. Cons: The adjustable grip system looks simple at first, but it's actually very easy to get it wrong the first few times. The inner plastic parts on the screws should guide the adjustment, not the outer bumpers that hold the gate securely to the wall. They should rest against the wood of the gate and as you rotate them the bumpers should gradually slide outward towards the wall. The function of the gate is so-so. It serves its purpose, but the bolt doesn't seem up to the task in the long run. I have three of these goals. A double pass over a wooden gate, 18"H x 48"-80"W and 2 passes over a wooden gate (30-44"W, 18"H). No matter how careful I am with the installation and this one Gates take some of the paint off our walls.Adjustable bumper knobs have a sticky rubber feel.They need to be tightened to keep the block properly in place.For us at least,they don't come loose quickly.I try to keep it in the same spot whenever possible to minimize damage. For the price, it couldn't get any better. Not perfect, but so far they've worked well for our pup!
