I apply with the supplied dampened sponge, then rinse with hot water and dry very quickly and easily. I do NOT let the paint dry and then polish [it saves a lot of time]. If there are parts that don't sponge up, try using an old, worn, soft toothbrush to get into the crevices. This can have a protective effect. I've seen silver look good after polishing it outdoors at my dad's house for a year. This is a repeat purchase from me and highly recommend. [Note that using a gas stove will release some sulfur which may cause exposed silver to darken sooner.]
