Review on 🌑️ Joes Racing 54005 Pyrometer: Accurate Temperature Measurement with Adjustable Probe by Manuel Gfx

Value for money pyrometer

Value for money pyrometer. I have used it on the NASA TT Miata and have had positive results. I have no comparison with pyrometers that are 3-4 times more expensive. The only other pyrometer I compared it to was the Longacre Accutech, which is slightly more expensive and had similar readings, with the Longacre having a nicer metal storage case. However, the readings appear to be at least accurate and consistent. There is a button on the screen to turn on the LCD backlight. The thermocouple probe is a pretty solid probe, although I wish it was a little deeper. Even when the handpiece adjuster is turned all the way, it's quite short. I give credit as it offers enough depth for the Hoosiers and Maxxis I've tested it on, but I think the tip would be even better if it was another 1/8" longer, but I'm picky. There is no storage on it but you could spend 3-4 times more or just turn on voice memo on your iPhone and call the numbers on the phone while getting readings. The bottom line is the same either way, except I saved money. I am very happy with the end result. He does what he has to do. It has a pretty solid outer shell. The buttons are large and easy to press. The storage box is simple but serves its purpose. I recommend it to any budget conscious driver, especially those who are just beginning to learn the ins and outs of using a pyrometer. I have no plans to buy anything more expensive and I feel this pyrometer does what it is supposed to do.
