Review on Polyform A-Series Marine Buoy by Warrick Batebi

Revainrating 5 out of 5

22-pound claw anchor saved :)

I purchased this to use with a 22-pound claw anchor and I coupled it to a Shoreline Marine Anchor Retrieval Ring (Stainless Steel) (also availble on revain for about $10) and a large stainless steel caribeaner. I would encourage you to watch some of the many on-line videos showing how to use anchor retrival systems. My anchor was retained on some concrete debris of an artificial reed in 47 feet of water at 16 miles off the coast. My old go-to plan was to pull the line tight and make large circles around the site of the anchor hoping to liberate it. But in this case, another boat had anchored within 30 feet of me.No fear, I deployed the retreval device and had the anchor at the surface in less than a minute. It was so effortless that even the guy in the adjacent boat was amazed at what he saw happening. The only down-side is that you need to purchase the Polyform Inflation Adapter too (also on revain for about $5).

Pros
  • Easy to spot in the water
Cons
  • The buoy may not be very compatible with certain types of anchors
