Review on Fairfield PP2B Poly-Pellets Weighted Stuffing Beads: Optimal Filling Solution for Plush Toys, Pillows & More! by Morgan Gilmore

Make sure the box is not damaged!

The small weighted beads are ok and I thought I'd get them. The surprise was that the cardboard was punctured right where the beads were placed. This tiny hole widened when hit, dropped, moved, etc., allowing most of the beads to exit their original plastic bag, which wasn't too heavy to begin with. As a result, the box arrived taped at the bottom but there was still a serious hole open on the side which caused the beads to spill all over the box where they migrated to the other packages we bought. The tape on the top of the box was partially torn making it difficult for me to bring it inside, so I had to lug her across the porch into the living room. What a mess! I had balls on the outside mat, inside mat, along the porch and steps making it a fall hazard (we're in our 80s), as well as on the carpet and anything else it touched. It wasn't quite how I wanted to spend my day since I had guests that night, but I couldn't risk them falling on the plastic balls. I don't blame the bead manufacturer, but I think the plastic could have been reinforced somehow. In fact, the fault lies with the shipping company, who should have taped the hole when it first appeared. They put a "HEAVY" label on the box warning me to empty the box before attempting to lift it. I guess, it helped keep the beads in place a bit as I was able to pick up the box and carry it outside before the beads were strewn all over the kitchen floor. I will keep the pearls. It's not worth looking for a small box and sending it back, but I would caution others to make sure there are no holes in the bag before opening it. They're smaller than the ones I've used in the past but I'm sure they will add to the toys I'm currently making for my kids.
