I'm a big fan of socks that use as much fine wool as possible. I've worn Darn Tough socks for years - roomy, hiking, low-cut. These are consistently the best socks I have ever worn, surpassed only by SmartWool. These low-cut, ultra-lightweight socks fit and feel as expected. I ordered XL for my foot size 12 4E and they fit perfectly. If they're the same as my other Darn Tough socks, they'll last through many washes and tumbles. You pay a little more for them, but they will pay for themselves in comfort and value over their long life. But as expected they shrunk a bit after the first normal wash/dry cycle and now fit perfectly.
