I bought two 10ft cables at the same time. One started failing after 4 months. There was an invisible break in the cord about 8-9 feet, I was able to bend the cord at that point and use it for another month. The other still charges fine, but the cable strain relief doesn't work. So I know it's only a matter of time before he dies. I have bought Anker brand cables in the past and can say that their basic design uses more flexible wires and softer insulation, resulting in a longer lifespan. At the time of this purchase I wanted a cable in specific colors because they are for kids, but going forward I would prefer a cable that will last a long time. All cables will eventually fail due to flex fatigue wear but I want at least 2 years or so and they haven't been used extensively or really stressed considering my kids still use a lot of dad's cables not your own.
