The workmanship of the razor meets my expectations for the price. This isn't an elite razor, but it's functional. My kit didn't come with a leather case, but it may have just been an error in the product description. Avoid the risk of cuts and irritation. The metal edge under the blade (don't know what to call it. Guards maybe?) sits very close to the blade. Because of this, you are less likely to cut yourself. However, this also reduces the closeness of the shave and can mean that you have to make several passes to really remove all the hair from the skin. I prefer a more "aggressive" razor (a razor with a large gap between the blade and the lip below) that shaves smoother. Of course, if you opt for a more aggressive razor, you are more likely to accidentally cut yourself. So it's a matter of preference. Either way, it's still a better buy than a cartridge razor. If you're afraid of cutting yourself, try it. If you have tough hair to cut, get something else that exposes the blade a little more.
