AVOID! Can lead to loss of taste!

I had early signs of gingivitis so I bought this as part of my new oral hygiene routine. Tried it a few days ago and my first experience was a sharp burning sensation in my mouth. It's a mouthwash so I didn't give it much thought (although the packaging and description say it shouldn't sting like other mouthwashes). Later that evening I went to brush my teeth and the toothpaste tasted and felt like soft petroleum jelly. At first I thought I had contracted COVID-19 as I had recently been in contact with someone who tested positive so I was a little worried and stopped using it further to lower a potential viral load. Passed the test and the result was negative. so i was a bit confused. The taste of the food became more and more tasteless and I no longer felt the sting from the toothpaste. So I googled "loss of taste in mouthwash" and came across this particular product! You'd think Crest would tell you their mouthwash can cause tongue blindness, but no. It's hidden deep in their FAQs. Apparently their mouthwash contains cetylpyridinium chloride, something that kills the taste buds of a segment of the population. restores the original sharpness of taste. One flush is enough to indicate loss of sensitivity. Do not believe me? Google yourself. This product should not be left on the shelf without disclosure. EDIT: Taste perception is back after a week (but still down). There is no taste on the tip of the tongue or on the cheeks yet - yes, there are taste buds on the cheeks. Will be edited when more comes back. EDIT 2: Feelings are back to normal after about two weeks. It's very difficult to estimate permanent loss as I don't have a baseline. I would still avoid.
