Review on Upgrade Your Laptop Storage with Western Digital Dell WD5000LPVX Blue SATA Hard Drive by Adam Dziarnowski ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A normal product, but they wanted more for the money.

in general, not to say that it is bad, although the words "good" and "western digital" do not match the same. the speed of copying from it is confidently 100 megabytes per second, this is an excellent indicator, when copying to it, I did not measure the speed, but I think not much less. I have visited quite a few such corpses, I hope at least this one will not die so quickly. wd1600 was installed in front of it (I don’t remember the rest of the letters), but when the beech was turned on again, it began to click, warming up and checking the controller board gave an unambiguous diagnosis - damage to the surface. the reason for the damage is that the screw in the beech is mounted upside down, apparently the bearing could not endure it for a long time. in another beech, 250 died for the same reason. seagate is more reliable in this regard, and ssd is even better.

Pros
  • thin, cold
Cons
  • frightening clicks at startup
