We have a new puppy who loves this bed. At times it tends to crouch into the longer, softer fur. It consists of 2 padded parts: a round donut roll and a bed with a donut hole. They are not separate, it's all one bed. This can be thrown in the wash, I remember the instructions on the typewriter but I toss it all in the washing machine on a gentle cool setting and then dry in a cool place. Which works great. Long fluffy hair does start to tangle or clump together with use and washing, but that hasn't deterred me or my pup. It's small and soft enough to fit in your travel bag. I'm happy with it so far and if I can keep my other dog who likes to take the stuffing out of the stuff I'll have enough for a year. Hope that was helpful, thanks!
