With a guaranteed 0.80% phosphorus level this is not a low phosphate food suitable for cats with kidney problems such as CKD. My cat was recently diagnosed with early stage CKD. We found this food before doing much research on CKD and loved the quality ingredients and the 'Low Phosphorus' label - great! I have a 1 pound sack, the cat loves it. I bought this 4 lb bag and only then heard from my vet that we should NOT be feeding our cat food this level of phosphorus. Cats with kidney problems should be fed diets closer to 0.50% phosphorus (the difference doesn't seem huge, but it seems true - 0.80 is closer to a standard cat diet). I emailed Forza10 to get some clarification and now they are telling me that the actual phosphate level on the dry matter analysis is 0.56, but that doesn't meet the guaranteed minimum of 0.80 on the analysis. They say there is an error on their website but I won't be convinced until their website and all resellers are updated with the correct values.
