Good things first: First things first, this vacuum is great. Everything else is secondary, at least for us. It's quiet and lightweight, which makes it pretty damn convenient to use on the stairs. It seems to "just" fit on our steps without falling to the next floor. He follows you very obediently around the room with the mildest of motives. The cable winder works well in both directions. Bags are readily available and cheap, at least online. We've had no issues with the fit or finish in our 18 months of ownership, although I have to admit we didn't fully open and close the accessory door, Consumer Reports style. It seems to us that by definition, plastic parts require tenderness. Could be better: pockets are small. You need to replace them frequently. The "Quick Connect" rod/nozzle is a bit stubborn, at least for us. We agree with some other reviewers that the cord is short, although the hose and extendable tube seem fine to us. The hammer is clogged with pet hair - tested and verified by our teenage son. It can be cleaned, but it requires a little gentle touch to put it back together. Overall, this is our best vacuum cleaner. We're sooo done with the Hoovers.
