. I got this because I didn't want her to get hit by a car because she would run away and run around the neighborhood and my whole family would run after her. I tested it in the garden. I set it to 2 after checking myself. She fell into a sand hole and was digging like crazy and didn't respond to my call so I hit the shock button and she screamed and ran out of the sand. I never had to shock her again. I put a collar on her and she stays by my side. As far as working for my dog, it's 5 stars. What I don't like is that it doesn't charge overnight. It's not like I used a horn or a light and only shocked them once, so I don't know why it doesn't hold a charge.
