I use this cable as an extension for my headset to work from home during COVID. My headset has a microphone. I've heard some complaints about background noise buzzing, so I did some research. It turns out that when you speak, there is a faint hum coming through this cable. The situation is made worse when the cable is next to other cables. My guess is that the cable is not adequately shielded and the microphone channel suffers the most. I'm honestly not surprised. The cable is very thin, much thinner than other cables I use in my setup.
