I am very satisfied with this compared to the 6000K version. I use them as backlights for a 64" plasma TV that mounts to the wall with a flat wall mount (the TV is only 3/4" from the wall). Initially, I mounted them directly on the back of the TV so they were facing the wall (the individual LEDs were placed perpendicular or at 90 degrees to the wall). This resulted in a white "halo" around the TV (which looked cool) but didn't light up the room as much as I would like. So I bought another roll of LEDs and a couple of pieces of J-channel vinyl at a big hardware store nearby. If you don't already know, "J-Channel" is used to install vinyl siding on the exterior of a building. However. Using a utility knife, I cut the J-shaped channel lengthwise leaving only the 90 degree channel (similar to the "iron corner" but made of vinyl). Then I attached double sided tape to the remaining pieces of vinyl, pressed them to the back of the TV and glued the LED strips. This will now align the LEDs parallel to the wall so that they illuminate the walls. , ceiling and floor around the TV. This dims the TV backlight so the other lights in the room can be turned off completely and still have enough light in the room for me to see what I'm doing as I walk. a manual PWM dimmer (also purchased from Revain, see here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004T9ITQ0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) between the power supply and the LED strip. and I modified the dimmer to have a relay that turns the power on/off when the USB port on the back of the TV is turned on/off. The USB power supply is connected to the relay coil, and the relay contacts are connected so that the power of the dimmer is switched on/off when the USB power supply is switched on/off. The end result is that the LED strip turns on when the TV is turned on. and vice versa.
