The TV remote needed to be replaced.
It got 4 stars because the battery compartment says it runs on AAA batteries when in fact it uses AA. The old remote is the green battery compartment, the new remote is the black compartment labeled AAA. But it works like a charm! No synchronization required, just put in 2 new batteries and bam, everything works.
