I've used several mascara primers and this one is perfect. It works! If you apply this white primer to your lashes, wait about 1.5 minutes, then quickly apply the first coat of lengthening and/or volumizing mascara, you are well on your way to looking like you have false lashes. But don't forget to pre-curl your lashes. Using an eyelash curler, pump up and curl your lashes in a full 15 seconds! Back to foundation - After you apply the first coat of mascara, you need to wait another 1.5 to 2 minutes to cover the foundation and apply a second coat of *another* mascara. It doesn't matter if it's the best of the best, but why not get a good mascara that's a little different from your first mascara. Do you take the one designed to fix the curl of the lashes or add intense color and volume, etc.? There are no fixed rules for this. Using two different products has become an issue of my life. It really seems to improve the effectiveness of most products! I am deducting a star from this primer because the primer is applied to the lashes. I had to learn how to apply it to my lashes. It barely washed out until I realized I had to use the tip of the brush to apply it and then use the magic wand to spread the foundation evenly over my lashes. I highly recommend a lash primer to make your life easier in the long run (assuming you want mega lashes). It's pretty easy if you follow what I wrote here. FYI: I love almost any Lancome or Estee Lauder mascara and am currently using Lancome Monsieur Big for my first coat and Benefit Roller Lash for my second coat. Amazing combination! Essence Lash Princess is said to go with this primer and I love it too and it's so affordable. However, I have the waterproof version and only occasionally use waterproof mascara as it's a bit harsh on the lashes. This is the part of the removal that can be difficult. I really wish it was more voluminous but wow the length that there is is amazing. I'm sure it would be perfect when paired with a volumizing mascara for a second coat. Hope that helps a little.
