These scales are battery operated or electrically operated. I was not satisfied with my previous net battery balance. Once, at the crucial moment when I was preparing the ingredients for baking, the battery in my previous balance suddenly died. I switched to a more reliable scale. I'm happy because I'm going for grams and pounds and most importantly I don't have to rely on expensive batteries.
