The laptop's cooling system operates continuously, buzzes and whistles even when it isn't loaded, and we can immediately hear it when we turn it on despite the power button's extreme fuzziness. We disassemble the laptop by removing the legs (there are screws under them) and breaking the incredibly sturdy locks that are all the way around the case's exterior. Inside, we observe a bolt or screw that is lying around in a free area of the case; why it didn't rattle is unclear; thermal paste that resembles sand; a protective film that was supposed to be glued around the processor chip but was instead glued to HALF of the processor CRYSTAL; and, as a cherry on top, a screw that secures the radio module board and is longer than n millimeters. The fan now stops at idle and the noise level has decreased by an order of magnitude once I sorted out the screws and cooling system (by the way, the BIOS has a setting that prevents the fan from stopping, but you can alter it).
