Review on 🐠 Enhanced SKEMIX Automatic Aquarium ATO System for Fish & Tortoise Tanks - No Wiring Required, Water Level Control & Filling by Beth Martin

Bought this to test out as I didn't need to replace my automatic ATO on my nano riff but it works on an office pico or a secondary rig for a longer holiday backup . My first concern was osmosis. Diffusion: Since the fresh water in the bottle is bound to the salt water in the tank, theoretically it should try to create homeostasis, and the salt water will infiltrate the bottle and eventually balance the water in the bottle and tank, thereby lowering the salinity in the tank enough to damage corals and fish. But after two days of testing the salinity in the aquarium with no change, I checked the bottle and the refractometer still showed 0.0 SG. My guess is that the tiny size of the holes in the lid, due to evaporative losses, delays any diffusion to the point that it's slower than the normal tank fill performance function. The bottle will be almost empty when the salt level in the bottle increases and this probably won't affect the performance of the aquarium much. Finally! This works great with marine nano aquariums.
