I used it as a skin barrier for my grandson who was born prematurely. It's like faux leather. He was discharged from the hospital with oxygen and a feeding tube (a tube down his nose into his stomach). During his 2.5 month stay in the intensive care unit, his already sensitive skin became hypersensitive. Nurses began using a similar product applied to his skin under tubes and medical tape. The one in our medical supply store was not as good as this product. The medical patch applied directly to his skin caused severe irritation on his tiny face. Love the fact that this silicone skin comes pre-cut which makes it a lot easier than cutting into chunks. The adhesive is strong enough to stay on the skin and hold the feeding and oxygen tubes in place, yet removes easily from the skin with little or no pulling and skin irritation, even easier to use a dab of baby oil when removing , make sure you completely clean the oil when changing the silicone. I hope he doesn't need any more medical attention before he runs out of tape, but if not I'll order more.
