This pad should be used when a light mattress is to be carried by a light person. I disassembled one and found two support boxes. I can't confirm what can happen when a bunch of kids jump on the bed, but I doubt the outcome will be very good. I was about to invest a lot of money in a single King board and two double XL Bunkie boards and now I'm glad I stuck with it and took it apart. so sad.
