I am restoring a very beat up 1994 XR600R and had to split the crankcase to replace two transmission gears. This splitter was very similar to what my typical powersports parts store had, but at a better price and with faster shipping. Although this paragraph only states up to 500cc, there were no problems with my 600cc engine. I think if you were running 1200cc this would not be the right tool for you. Overall very happy with the investment and hope it will last a lifetime as the quality seems very good.
