Review on ☕ Cafe La Llave Espresso Capsules: Intensity 11-Recylable Coffee Pods Compatible with Nespresso OriginalLine Machines - 80 Count by Alexander Morgan

Revainrating 2 out of 5

A new problem - a manufacturing defect?

I have ordered batches of these Llave capsules in 80 pieces several times - actually 7 times. I have 3 Nespresso machines (work office, home office and kitchen) each less than 1 year old (I replaced all 3 last year) and have been using Nespresso for over 13 years. In fact, I'm a self-proclaimed Nespresso champion. We are a family of coffee lovers. We keep Nespresso packs available and deliveries overlap from time to time. This time I received these Llave pods before we ran out of Llave stocks from the last shipment. And this is where my review begins. Otherwise I would give this product 5 stars. Unfortunately, this batch produces anomalous results. From two open sleeves I tried to make 10 cups. Only 2 actually worked hard enough to produce a few drops of espresso. Everyone else didn't make ONE espresso. Checking each of the pods that didn't produce espresso, each encountered the same issue. The face from which the espresso is extracted had absolutely no holes. Normally the foil is pressed against the strainer to extract, and once the pressure is high enough, it presses hard enough to open the face in several places, and the espresso flows from that place into your cup like nectar that even the gods have Will appreciate. .I descale machines every six months and have tried popping cups with this batch on each of my 2 machines at home (can't go to the office in San Francisco due to our home order). and the results are machine independent. If I pull out a cup of Nespresso capsules, no problem. If I pull out a cup of Llave capsules from my LAST batch, NO PROBLEM. So I have to conclude that they either changed the crafting process, container materials, or both. Unfortunately they no longer work and I will stop broadcasting until I have proof that this issue has been resolved. Reading other reviews and searching for someone with these issues, I noticed a trend of reviews emphasizing that the machine needs to be started multiple times to get a regular 110ml lungo or 40ml espresso. Too few holes = less production? In any case, I wouldn't recommend anyone to take the risk of ordering them until this issue is resolved unless you have Prime and are willing to return your order if you experience the same issues.
