Label says hand wash but I tossed them in the top loader (hot wash + power cycle with Tide and OxiClean to blast every size) then tumble dried (medium temperature ) and it looks PERFECT! She sat down a little, which I wanted and expected. If you want to minimize shrinkage, hand wash or use a gentle cycle on your machine, use lukewarm or cold water and make sure to air dry - do not tumble dry. Now we come to the assessment. an option if you're looking for something with a handcrafted, rustic vibe in a calming neutral color combination. As you can see from the photos, the khaki is more of a light brown (like coffee with cream) than real khaki, and the cream is a richer cream color (almost pale beige). The colors are complex and look like they're naturally colored and really complement the rough, earthy texture. The weave of the blanket is coarse, but the cotton used to make the yarn is soft, giving you plenty of texture without scratching. It feels very tactile and pleasant and of course looks great. The muted colors really show off the richness of the texture. After washing in hot water, the fabric has stretched a bit and become a bit denser, but the blanket is still light and airy/soft. I am in love with this litter. I had a hard time finding something made from 100% cotton with a rich texture and a handmade look that is still soft and cozy, but I lucked out and bought it :)
