I bought this because my new Samsung Galaxy S laptop only has 2 USB-C ports, a serious drawback if You need to connect a lot of peripherals. This MediaGear dock worked great right out of the box. The power cord and USB CC cable are top notch, extra thick for insulation, perfect for my audio gear. The 90W Power Delivery port worked great with my external USB 3 drives while charging my laptop through a single USB-C port. The blue LED lights are cool too. Haven't tried 4K monitors as I don't have one, but an external 1080p monitor worked like clockwork. I enthusiastically recommend this product if you need a docking station with power and an external monitor.
