Easy to install (screw in), switch on the device and they start flashing. This should allow an easy-to-load application to detect them and add application controls to the list of devices. However, with my new TP Link Deco router, 2.4 and 5 gigabyte networks are almost indistinguishable, and the router connects devices to the band that is fastest at a given distance from the router's nodes. It does not match these lamps. The answer is to create two separate networks, one for each speed, eliminating the benefits of a smart router with PITA plus. I can't comment on the color aspects as they come up when the app puts them together. If you have a separate 2.4 network with your own name, most likely you will like it.
