Review on Trans Dapt 9037 Chrome Differential Cover by Jacob Ashman

Cheap bolt broke in differential case

Bolts are cheap, come with no washers and break VERY easily. I BROKE A SCREW IN THE DIFFERENTIAL CASE WITH VERY LIGHT PUSHING! I hadn't even been twisted yet, and all of a sudden I had this feeling that no guy wants to experience when they twist something, cross! But no, it was even better, the head of the bolt just broke off completely with very little pressure. Very cheap metal, looks almost white metal inside from what I could tell as unfortunately it's chipped. Really Trans Dapt? I held the 3/8 screwdriver I used by the head instead of the handle to avoid over-tightening. It just broke right away! Now I'm about to do a major overhaul. Well, now there's a screw stuck in my diff case, so yeah. pretty well bolted on (no pun intended). I gave 1 star because I can't give a 0 and the lid and seal fit properly. I would probably avoid this kit altogether, or at least NOT use the screws that come with the kit but get your own! PS - I almost forgot to mention when trying to tighten the cap. Plug since it came loose from the factory I tightened it to the point where the screw almost broke so it would seal completely and stop leaking. Compared to other kits, this one seems overpriced and very poor quality.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Difficult to fix
