Review on ✈️ SYMA X5C-1 RC Quadcopter Bundle: Extra Batteries, Blades, Charger, and SD Card by Denise Rivera

Fun to fly and great value for beginners

This is a great quadcopter kit at an affordable price. I would definitely recommend it as a first quad as it is for me. It was easy for me to pick it up and learn to fly it. Extra batteries come in handy as the quad only has about 7 minutes of flight time. I would have liked one less propeller set and an extra battery or Prop Guard Kit. Protective cases are made of thin plastic and are easily deformed. If they deform enough, the propellers will hit the guard as they spin, requiring you to bend it back. The ATV is light and even if it does hit something, it is unlikely to be damaged. An additional SD card is completely useless. Another advantage this quad has over some other beginner quads is the overall size. I've found that the combination of the bright lights underneath and the overall size helps keep track of where the quad is. I could imagine some small quads flying too far and getting lost by inexperienced pilots because they are hard to see. I've never had this problem with the X5C. The camera is easy to use but, as you'd expect, the quality is rudimentary at best. However, people can also be distinguished in poor lighting conditions (I tested in the twilight). One caveat is that there's actually no indication that the quad is going to run out of battery with reasonable warning (or at least I haven't found it), so you'll need to feel the LiPo power curve and lower the quad when the motors gets sluggish.
