I doubt this was my first touchscreen camera - I have an older, inexpensive Sony touchscreen camera. I found I LOVE the touch screen on the N! it doesn't scare him because he's so small. I also wanted the wide end of the zoom and the f3 aperture. In any case, if I use WiFi to transfer files, getting/removing the micro SDHC card is very difficult. I still need my iPad to talk to my N. Canon's new software app should be used with the N. The zoom lens and shutter button are good in daylight but hard to feel and see at night. The touchscreen is more responsive. (Updated 12/27/2016 - in flash mode - underexposed about 75% of the time. Film mode is great. I bought a DotLine mini metal grip to stabilize my shots - I recommend it as an accessory. I also bought a charger and more 2 batteries. When it's 40 degrees outside or less, the batteries will run out quickly.) Six stupid simultaneous photo mode is sooooo Japanese. I found all the options crap. I like to shoot in black and white with the camera, especially with the widest possible zoom. Miniature mode is disappointing. The artificial fisheye mode looks better in daylight. Use a neck strap - the camera will feel unbalanced with just a wrist strap. Purchase additional batteries and a separate charger instead of charging the battery from the camera. I seem very happy with my new old model N!
