Purchased ADS-1700w to replace ADS-1500w. The scanner is faster, but that's the only feature that seems to have improved. I can't get the ADS-1700w to scan to a network share on a WD PR4100 NAS. No matter what I tried, I updated firmware, various configurations and even contacted Brother Level 5 Support. Although they are working on it. Also, WD logged into my computer to make sure the NAS is properly configured. It scans normally on the PC. I had no problem scanning the ADS-1500w to my NAS, so I don't know why the ADS-1700w is missing. second problem. Brother has not enabled Cloud Web Services on the ads-1700w through the scanner menu. The device does not have a menu to use this function. Instead, they opted to activate services through the PC. Why? This device now needs to be paired with a PC to scan to Dropbox, while the ads-1500w was PC-less. For me this is a step backwards. Ads-1500w had direct scanning to multiple cloud services. It's frustrating to have to open the PC to do this. Apart from this, that the ADS-1700w is 7 pages per minute better than the ads-1500w, the ADS-1700w lacks built-in features in the cloud menu. I worked with my brother to fix the NAS issue but eventually gave up and sent it back. Finally. Why don't you include a USB 3.0 cable? And why didn't you include the blank software CD and receipt scanner like you did with the ADS-1500W? I understand why it's gone from now $269 to $199.99. It hardly comes close to the successor model. And I didn't get a free review like the others. Paid for mine. 0 cable at?
