Review on πŸ”₯ Efficient and Powerful Red Mr. Heater MH18B Propane Heater for Maximum Warmth by Adam Abner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Instructions for multiple models are not detailed enough

Instructions contain more warning text than start-up instructions. I had to figure out if my unit had electronic battery start (it did, but the instructions don't even mention that feature) and how to light the PILOT LIGHT rather than the heating element to start it manually. A light breeze blew the unit into the air while my other propane tank mounted units happily went live. I used my Big Buddy with a factory hose for a 20lb propane tank which seemed to fit but the instructions again showed a picture of a different connector adapter but didn't say it had 2 tank holes (one on each side) and the special gave bottle adapter is only in one of them (keep looking if you got the wrong door). Nice little unit, will probably try again later this month and maybe report back (afterwards). I will say that 18,000 BTUs is NOT as powerful as twin wire heating elements mounted on a propane tank. So don't expect much heat, but that's to be expected, perhaps for a certified indoor unit.

Pros
  • 4,000, 9,000, or 18,000 BTUs per hour
Cons
  • Tape
