I don't normally write bad reviews because I understand that everyone's experience is different. But this cat door is so frustrating that I want to warn others. First, the instructions are very difficult to interpret. I'm a somewhat handy person, but I had problems with theses. And second, the lock is embarrassing. It doesn't fully latch, and even after I manage to get both sliders in the right place, my cats still just push the door open. The only reason I haven't returned it yet is because I made a custom window frame with the dimensions of this pet door. If I don't know how to lock the door, I'll take it back and start over. Update: I figured out how to lock the door. The instructions should explain this more clearly. However, they were clearly written by someone who does not speak English well. To lock the door, open the door towards you, slide the green lock to the right, close the door and slide the red lock to the left. The trick is that the door has to be opened to lock one side first. What I didn't mention in the first review is that the screws aren't long enough. Including 2 screws of different lengths. The longest ones don't go through the front and back frames. Maybe they mean that you should use a long screw on one side of the door and a short one on the other, but that won't work in my case. I had to look for other screws.
