In many ways this shovel is great. Very durable and comfortable to hold. The only problem is that I didn't realize the front of the shovel had little "teeth" on the end. I suspect this will help clear the clumps from the bottom of the box. I worry that collecting garbage every day will scratch the plastic box and shorten its lifespan. The boxes I use are very smooth, and clumps form easily with my other shovels that don't have tines. And as for the clumps that stick to the bottom of the box (I have backhoes that like to clean out most of the junk first), I'm concerned that crevices in the teeth actually create more dirt by tearing apart parts of the box. a lump attached to the box instead of collecting it entirely.
