Review on MK 320S Speedlite Automatic Mirrorless Cameras by Mitch Garrido

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Surprisingly good flash, but not as powerful as the published guide number suggests.

Really surprisingly good flash for the price. Well made and very understated so a nice balanced Sony NEX/a6000/a6300/a6500 - it works well with these cameras without feeling like the flash is too big. Pros: - decent flash output (although I think the published Guide Number (GN) is inaccurate - nonetheless it would be good for reflecting fill flash in a small space and definitely a HUGE improvement over on-camera flash on Sony cameras); - a strong design; - small size, light weight and low power consumption (2 AA batteries); - intuitive in work; - features an LED video light (although it's probably not powerful enough to work like a real modeling light when shooting through a light shaper); - excellent value for money, especially as an alternative to the weaker - but still significantly more expensive - Sony flash units such as the HVL-F20. Cons - Things to hold you back if you plan on getting more advanced flash tech): - Again, not as powerful as GN claims (but still pretty close to similarly sized third party flashes like the Godox TT350s, which slightly overestimates its GN - but keep in mind that Godox is about 50% more expensive); - no HSS (high-speed sync) - limited by the maximum flash speed of the camera (my a6300 is 1/160); - does not turn far enough to shoulder or left jump; You basically just have to bounce off the ceiling or at most 90 degrees to the right (can't bounce 90 degrees to the left - more like 45 degrees to the left so you get as much direct flash on the subject as it's bouncing).
