These were plastic boxes for us because a cluster of 3x4 units fit PERFECTLY under a small stainless steel table in our kitchen. In general they are of good quality. Surprisingly spacious inside, despite the small external dimensions. A pint-sized jar of jam fits in a drawer. Fits most of our spatulas and whisks, other kitchen gadgets and holds condiments, oven mitts and kitchen towels. Two things buyers might want to note: the drawer handle is oddly placed at the bottom of the drawer (allowing it to sit flush without taking up the storage space inside) and it's annoying. I think in time I'll learn, but I keep reaching up out of the box to pull it out. And the second thing you should know is that when you pull out the drawer, you need two hands, one to prevent the drawer from falling and the other to search the drawer and look for what what you need. The boxes have stops so that they don't fall out completely, but tip over heavily. This is because it is a simple design with no drawer runners or slides.
