A great way to turn a used laptop hard drive into a portable one. Works well with HDDs and SSDs. Pros: great price. Compact size, good design, the logo doesn't bother you like some devices where the brand is more important than the box. The connection is treated like a USB attached SCSI device and is therefore faster than a BOT (Bulk-Only Transfer) USB device. The speed is stable 80-100 Mbps. Comes with everything you need: screws, screwdrivers, rubber feet. Cons: The latch that holds the two pieces of drive shroud that wraps around the hard drive is a bit difficult to open again. You have to press on the larger part to slide the latch down and release the smaller part with the USB connector and the SATA connector. The bottom of the case uses two screws to physically attach the drive to the case. If you need a removable drive (which wasn't the case in my situation), you can use foam tape or a rubber pad to keep the drive from rattling after the case is closed. Finally, check the height of your hard drive. Most drives should fit, but if you're working with an old SATA device or a high-capacity device that's a bit larger (some Seagate and WD Barracuda drives), it won't fit in the case at all.
