Glue not very strong

It was easy to cut and install, just kept having issues with it not sticking to the walls, even after I washed the walls down in the kitchen and waited 2 hours to make sure the walls were dried. I had to get Elmers clear glue and apply some here and there, where the paper did NOT stick very well.
