This was an important step toward my ultimate goal of a life free of work, including work related to personal hygiene. Never give up on your dreams, children. But seriously, this thing makes you feel disproportionately spoiled for what it costs. It's really fantastic. My concern is that it doesn't work well with rechargeable batteries (1.2V instead of 1.5V). The pump becomes sluggish and somewhat uneven in the amount of soap dispensed. It's amazing how many products in a family home with young children use batteries, so I try to use rechargeable batteries for as many things as possible and somehow I still end up with gallon milk cans full of spent alkaline batteries. Using 2 Li-ion AA (7.4V) instead of 4 standard alkaline batteries (6V) and it works great. The pump runs much faster and more stable than recommended AAs. The only complication is that when using lithium-ion cells you must use 2 "dummy" cells to fill the 4-cell battery compartment.
