I wanted to modernize the base beam and recorded the removal of the old square overlay, hence the signs of wear the veneer. I forgot to take a "before" photo so you can see halfway "before". I had to use wood spatula to smooth and sand down the surface. It should be noted that I dusted the surface after sanding, but I wish I had washed it as some of the paper didn't stick properly in a few small spots and it's my own fault, not the product. The paper is actually very durable and has never torn despite multiple removals and reuses. It's really sticky, but not so sticky that you can't peel it off and reapply it. If you do this skillfully, it will still remain sticky and come back with no problems. Even after 5 or 6 times. As a scraper I used a knife (for plaster repair). The paper is very easy to work with and you have to get really close to see the lines and connections. I like the result and I hope the paper will stick in one day and not buckle overnight. I'll keep an eye on it. I got a few bubbles and used a blade to pop them and try to smooth them out with mixed results.
