Seems to be a nice blue/grey stain

This stain is pretty neat. Goes on almost clear and gets a ton of color as it dries!Take my pics as a reference for what it’s worth. Here’s what you’re looking at:-An actual reclaimed piece of wood with no stain. All natural and cleaned up.-2 smooth pieces of wood. One with a glossy brown stain. The other with the Varathane weathered stain.-1 piece of wood distress with wire brush on a power drill. One half of this piece has the same gloss brown stain, and the other half has the Varathane…

Pros
  • Works as advertised. Very pleased with this product
Cons
  • Requires a lot of prep work before application

Not like the pics on the can

I used this on pine. On the can, the picture shows a nice, consistent gray that still shows the grain. I sanded my wood down to 400 grit. After the first coat I had many areas that hardly took any color, so I went back over those areas with a second coat. It came out SUPER streaky, and for reasons I can't understand, the knots turned ORANGE. I'm just hoping that the color can be stripped with bleach, as the instructions on the can suggest, so all this wood isn't wasted. If your wood has no…

Pros
  • ‎No Warning Applicable
Cons
  • Can accentuate imperfections in the wood

This is a great product.

It really works and you control the depth of treatment. The more you use the darker it gets. I made a garden work bench (5'x6'x21/2') and I used 2 quarts because I wanted it to look like it was outside a long time. I beat up the wood so it would run into the marks and distress it even more. Love it, just pour it on, let it run or brush it in like I did, you cannot find an easier way to get this look. the wife, Debi

Pros
  • Easy to apply with a brush or spray
Cons
  • Can be difficult to remove from skin or clothing

Varathane Weathered Wood Accelerator, Grey

Worked well for a Halloween project to make old wood look even older. Simple to use, simple to cleanup and did what it was supposed to do.

Pros
  • Provides a cost-effective solution for updating woodwork
Cons
  • May not work well on wood that has been previously painted

Wish it were better

I wanted to love this product.I waited a couple weeks after applying to review it.In that time, it did not turn out like I would have hoped for it to.Lavender.My table and bench are lavender in color. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful color! Vibrant and purple, but I wanted grey.I was set on grey.I did some experiments like putting poly urethane on like others have done and it didn’t change much. Then I put peroxide on and it did change! Still not where I want it to be, but better. In the…

Pros
  • Provides a unique and one-of-a-kind look to any project
Cons
  • Can cause the wood to become harder to clean or maintain

Beautiful stain good for me

This is a very pretty stain! I used for multiple projects and while they all came out a little different (due to varied ages/ types of wood), I was happy with them all!

Pros
  • ‎3.17 ounces
Cons
  • The gray color may not match existing wood furniture or décor

We like it . We use it to age new fence panels when we can't find real ones. Works great. Finished out great! Can be difficult to apply evenly.

Pros
  • No dislikes. It makes pine boards and plywood look like it is 50 yrs old. Love it
Cons
  • Can be difficult to apply evenly

Worked wonders! best in my review

This product worked perfectly! I had 3 - 4x4’s Installed to hang lights from and they stood out because it was brand new wood. This product worked in minutes to make the piles blend in!

Pros
  • ‎Wood Stain
Cons
  • May not work on wood that has already been treated with other stains or finishes

Great Stuff: my feedback

To me this stuff is amazing. I recently built my daughter a king size bed frame. She wanted it to have the rustic barnwood look. I used some rough cut pine and gave it a coat of this stuff. It worked like a charm. I will definitely use it again when the rustic look is what is the desired outcome.

Pros
  • Comes in a convenient quart-sized container
Cons
  • May not work on wood with a high gloss finish

Easy to use and looks great!

I used this on an old coffee table after sanding off the old finish. I applied two coats (an hour in between). It turned out pretty amazing. Much easier than using a stain. After the first coat, it was a nice rustic grey but I decided to go a bit darker and added a second coat. I finished with three coats of Watco 63241 Lacquer Clear Wood Finish, Quart, Clear Satin

Pros
  • Perfect for creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere
Cons
  • Can be difficult to mix or apply consistently

Good product poor packaging

The product itself is fine, love it. My wood crates look weathered grey, can’t complain. However, the packaging was messy. Just FYI if you’re ordering this product it might be spilling all over your other items like mine was.

Pros
  • I love the worn look. This looks great on my wood signs.
Cons
  • Used it on pine and the wood now has a distinct purple tint to it.

Multiple can purchases and going.

Absolutely loved this product. After 6 coats I got the color I wanted. I love being able to layer coats and seeing the transition to dark. My table was made with multiple types of wood and this stain pulled the different colors out. They are actually beautiful!

Pros
  • Can be sanded and painted over if desired
Cons
  • Can be difficult to match with other wood treatments or stains

Love the look for my opinion

I turned new lumber into a beautiful barn door with the help of this product. I added streaks of watered down brown paint to further enhance the look . It did take 3 cans to complete this project. I didn't expect that.

Pros
  • Protects against UV damage and other natural elements
Cons
  • May not work well on wood that has been previously treated with wax or oil

Love it.: my feedback

This really works! I love it. A bit pricey, but a quart goes a long way. Product is thin and easy to paint on. I made this little table. After weathered with Varathan, added a few streaks of regular stain and several coats of sealer.

Pros
  • Neutral gray tone complements any color scheme
Cons
  • Can be difficult to remove from brushes or tools

Works great! good for me

This stuff is awesome. Works best on raw wood but also will work on any wood of any condition. I poured mine into a spray bottle to easily apply, especially when applying to rough wood. Highly recommend for achieving that barn wood look.

Pros
  • ‎4.41 x 4.41 x 4.98 inches
Cons
  • May require multiple coats for desired weathered effect

Might be Purple good for me

So I had a bare wood table from Pottery Barn that I had gotten (sanded it down), and wanted that variegated wood look. Tried it with this product and I do have to agree that it has a purple hue to it. I ended up sanding it down but the wood held onto some color as it had gotten into the grain. I’m going to work with it, but definitely didn’t look as grey as I had wanted.Second pic is of paintbrush after washing it for a few min. That’s how it reacted to the paper towel it’s drying on .

Pros
  • Easy to follow instructions included with the product
Cons
  • Can cause wood to become less stable over time
