Review on Moto Solution Diagnostic Suzuki Outboard Marine by Yung Cypher

Evinrude renamed 2000 Suzuki 70hp 4-stroke engines and sold them as their own. Diagnostic software specifically designed for this engine was not available from Revain or E-Bay. My Evinrude started easily, ran smoothly, but maxed out at around 2800 rpm, well below its normal operating range. The engine is equipped with a limiter that prevents it from revving above 3000 rpm in the event of oil pressure problems or overheating. In this case, however, none of the conditions were met. I bought it for my Evinrude dealer to use after a year of unsuccessful repair attempts (including replacing injectors). This Suzuki software worked great with my Evinrude and eliminated many potential problems. As it turned out, the problem was a faulty neutral switch that wouldn't turn off when the engine was turned on (a problem this tool couldn't detect on Suzuki engines either). However, this tool worked flawlessly in evaluating and troubleshooting the potential issues that the on-board computer was supposed to detect. My dealer was impressed and I am impressed, although the final decision came from extensive internet research. (My dealer told me that the computers on these engines were very primitive and provided little information. This turned out to be inaccurate.) Replacing the neutral switch returned my engine to normal operation.
