When we bought the house the previous owner had already renovated the bathrooms and did a very good job. strict, but when they showered in the master, the shower head pointed in the same direction as the shower stall opening (not directly at it, but toward it) and every time we showered, the floor got wet. So my wife surprised me with a project for Christmas. But it's perfect, the shower head is very solid and the flow from the jets is great, it really looks like rain. I walked further and raised my head slightly with the extension so it was higher than my head and we couldn't be happier. 12 in the head does an excellent job of keeping water all over the body but not on the bottom. If you're looking for a rain shower head, I highly recommend this one! Just make sure you have an extension cord if you're assuming a regular head.
