I purchased this product for my 12yo who has sensory integration problems to help with coordination and the handling of smaller items. He did get frustrated with the more important aspects of the animal features, I had to work closely with him on the smaller intricate pieces. once finished he was proud of himself for sticking with it and the experience as a whole wasn't too time consuming, I do believe the age guide would work better for kids who are a bit older. Smaller hands still trying to find their coordination may get tired and easily frustrated by the experience.
