Great for kids and moms!

We're semi-crisp so I wanted a sunscreen that wasn't totally free of toxins but wouldn't break the bank. This seemed to fit the bill. It's not the perfect sunscreen, but it's better than all that other crap. We first used it last week when my son was at Cub Scout Day Camp. He was outside from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in 30 degree heat. We applied it every morning before arriving at camp and it worked great. The only part of my son that blushed a little was the back of his neck. But that could be because he wasn't very comfortable there, or simply because it's the most insecure part of his personality. But he hasn't been red enough to blister or even hurt in over a day and he has very fair skin! I also used it as a volunteer at a camp for a day and had the same experience - the only part that got red was my neck. I applied it to my face, ears, neck and arms. Again no blisters or severe pain, just redness for a few days and only at the back of the head. I usually came home with my ears, face, hands, etc. burned. I also have very light skin. I advised my son to reapply at lunchtime but I don't know if he did or not on the days I wasn't there. We haven't used it in the water, but I believe it definitely needs to be reapplied during in-water use, as is the case with most sunscreens (especially the less toxic varieties).

Pros
  • Ideal for high wear areas and targeted protection
Cons
  • Not as thick as other products
