As others have said, the thing is very well made. A lot of supposed brass items coming out of China these days are made from all sorts of things that are *not* brass and are painted to look like brass. This item is real brass! The threads are well cut on both sides making them easy to connect and disconnect from the faucet/hose and I expect they will last a very long time. The biggest advantage of this type of product is that it allows a lot more water to pass through. Water without exceeding the set pressure than those cheap "water pressure regulators" you see so often that look like a barrel that you screw onto your hose. If you've ever looked into cheap regulators, you'll see that they only work when they're restricted. Basically, they just drill a small hole in it that restricts the water supply to the point where the pressure doesn't get too high. Bring pressure to a safe level, but severely restrict the flow rate. This bad boy regulator works differently, maintaining safe pressure without restricting flow. This will make the water flow much better when you shower, use the sink, etc. This regulator is a smaller version of the regulator you may have installed that regulates the pressure in your home. Another nice bonus of this one is that the pressure on it is regulated. Read the owner's manual, but many newer vans can safely operate at 55 psi. 45psi is the typical pressure that almost all RV water pressure regulators are set to. If your motorhome is designed for this, you can increase the pressure without hesitation and enjoy an even better water flow. On the other hand, if you have a water connection but no sewer connection and want to use less water to fill your holding tanks more slowly, you can reduce the pressure on this regulator if you wish. I considered this type of controller a few years ago. and while amazing and highly recommended, there weren't many options and they sold for multiples of the price. I just couldn't part with such a sum of money, so I waited. This element makes such a big difference, it's a bit bigger than the cheap Direct/Log type controls but works much better. I wish I had taken one like this a few years ago!
