Smells intense. I bought them one as a gift from my brother and he politely declined it saying it smelled too much of perfume for his liking. I can understand why. The aroma is overwhelming at first. And it doesn't smell like grapefruit to me; not really. I can smell grapefruit in there if I'm looking for it, but if I didn't know it was there I'm not sure how I would think it smells. I'm not sure how they're made or what, but they're solid. So they don't work like other Berger lamps. I was thankful to have them in my car because the air blowing out of my A/C has taken on a moldy smell that I need to counteract with something strong. it doesn't stop mold; he's just trying to hide it.
