Bought this 1800w blender for crushing ice cream and smoothies. Received quickly, really wanted to try it. I rinsed it out, added my ingredients, turned on the power and. Nothing? It could be heard that the motor was jammed. I quickly changed it and got a new one today. This time I tried it first before adding the ingredients and voila! Works perfectly. It's a little odd because when you turn it on, it automatically syncs with whatever you're doing. I'm used to an old style blender with high and low wattage and easy on/off so it took me a while to get used to it. It's very fast and powerful and makes great smoothies. He also gets along very well with ice. This is a powerful device that's taller than the average blender, so be sure to measure the height to the bottom of the cabinets. Doesn't fit under mine with a lid. I just leave the lid in my closet drawer until I need it.
