Update: I'm not sure how many times I'll be fooled by this thing. I kept ordering a replacement, it was too small and shattered the first time I tried to clear the area. Considering that glass replacement is only marginally cheaper than buying a new press, I think every time the glass breaks I will replace the entire press. Seems wasteful, but it gets ridiculous. ***** It's thinner than a regular carafe and doesn't fit snugly in the frame of my 12 oz. Bodum presses. When I first used it the carafe fell out of its frame and smashed all over the kitchen floor. I immediately ordered another replacement and the fit is just as complimentary. I have to hold the glass while I pour the coffee grounds into the bin so the whole carafe doesn't fall. I have been using my presses daily for 20 years and have ordered several replacement decanters over the years and this is the first time I have had a problem. I think Bodum is trying to get us all to buy new presses.
